the newer modules can only be programmed by pc but there are many benefits. you can use summer or winter timing even holidays. there is sunrise and sunset timing. you can lock or unlock buttons. see vmb8pbu protocol documentation.

homecenter doesn’t have any sunset,sunrise,summer and winter functions as far as i know.
The VMB8PB can not be upgraded since it has a smaller µP than the VMB8PBU.
homecenter does not have any programmation at all. This must be done using velbus modules.
