Compare Velbus with other automation system

Sometime, we need to know what we buy. I love Velbus because protocol is open, clear, module are efficient (at a good price for some of them). All isn’t perfect… but it’s the same for other brands :

If you’re not able to read this (because Netherland language), don’t forget Google translate : translate.google.com/translate? … edit-text=

I think Velbus could do better (please create new sensors: wind, rain, light, movement, gaz… or at least VMB16IN) but remains reliable and high quality

I think one of the most important factors has been left out.

The price …

We are continuously developing new products for Velbus.
Right now, we are working on a range of PIR detectors.
As soon as more info is available, we will post it on the website.

You know one product that would work really well is a wireless bus extender!

Would be great to extend velbus to outdoor buildings or other hard to reach places without having to run a cable which is sometimes prohibitive.

For example you could have a velbus to rf transmitter which takes the bus and broadcasts it to an external building.

The external building could have an rf receiver which takes it and transposed it back to wired bus.

In fact, it would make sense for velbus to produce an rf rec over which is also a 15v power supply which both provides power and bus together.

Hey thanks for the feedback.
I’ll pass this idea to the R&D team.

Great idea but be carreful with CSMA/CR for bus and CSMA/CA for wireless : not compatible and loosing “real time” running.
