Display temp. sensor VMBEL4

Hi all,

I’m very new within the Velbus community, I have been renovating entirely my house for a year and a half with a brand new Velbus installation and now I’m there!

Only issue on my side is to display the temperature in the bedroom. I have a VMBEL4 switch with a temperature sensor, I can see the actual temperature on VelbusLink so it works perfectly.

I have no heating system in my bedroom but I just want to check the temperature on Home Assistant in the evening, before going to bed. I’ve tried multiple ways to integrate the temperature sensor to HA but it still doesn’t work. I have the feeling that as long as the sensor is not linked to a heating system, then the temperature alone cannot be displayed.

Does someone have a solution?

Thanks a lot for the help!

The temperature sensor is independent of its use. Try enabling in the module configuration for the glass panel an option that reads along the lines of “auto-send temperature values.” It will make the module send a temperature to the bus whenever it changes by 0.25K which I’d be surprised if H-A does not pick up (though if you’re seeing the temperature in the VelbusLink, then it is being sent already, and there might be something missing on the H-A side…)

(disclaimer: I’m not myself an user of H-A, so others might have better suggestions)

Thank you for your help. Indeed if I can see the temperature in VelbusLink I could be able to use this data, for exemple to display it in HA. But I still didn’t find the solution.

Here is an example of the card I would like to add to my HA view:

Are you able to see your VMBEL-4 in HA in the Velbus integration?

This is what I see in my integration. If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to ask them
