As far as I understood, timers in the modules are as you say like “keep [the light] on for 30 seconds”.
To have functions like the one you describe, you would need some component on your bus that keeps track of the time, and triggers the desired events by sending the instruction on the bus.
I don’t know if Velleman has something cooking to offer such functionalities?
IMHO once you have something like a PC hooked to the bus, you can do anything you want (once you have the software to do it).
I expect to receive a set of modules next week, and will put a test-bench together and start testing then.
My plan is to put a tiny PC (very low consumption) on the bus, and develop the software to do the type of things like programmed turning on/off, different behavior of buttons depending of daytime or daylight, coupling with alarm system,…

At this time, certain modules have timing functions.
We have plans to release a timer module, which will allow you to execute commands such as ‘turn relay 4 on from 12h00 till 14h00, monday to friday’. As development has not started yet, there are no further details available. It will look the same as a thermostat unit.
