It was a while since i checked the Velbus site and i now noticed that it is required to mount the VMB4PD push button module at eye level. Why wasn’t this required from the start? Is the requirement based on the the experience from the first users complaining about text visibility when not placed at eye level?
This requirement does pose a serious limitation on the usability of the module, since placing push button modules at eye level is not exactly a “common practice”. Will placing the module at a normal level of about 110 to 120 cm above ground level limit it’s functionality in a serious way?
Does this mean that the vertical viewing angle of the text display is quite wide?
It makes perfect sense that reading a text placed at eye level is easier than when it is 50cm lower, but if the vertical viewing angle of the display is very narrow it would make the text invisible when looked at it from that angle. Bowing down each time to read the text on the module would not really be user friendly.
The modules in our building are placed a bit higher 1m40-50, but i’m 2m05 tall and i can read it perfectly. I don’t think there will be a problem, it’s just nice to have them at eye-level. Looking down at text from a steep angle is always more straining.
