I am going to install a Velbus system soon during the renovation of my home. We are currently doubting if we want to install the glass panels or not. The modern look of the panels do not really fit in our interior.
What would be the alternatives to work with to have a temperature sensor connected to Velbus that will work similar as the temperature probes inside the glass panels?
I know what you mean about the modern look of the glass panels. We used them on a previous project but they were not right for our current home…. so we made our own light switches. We have over 30 of these, some with four buttons and some with two. They have a velbus pushbutton module (VMB8PBU in our case) inside.
But we could not find a good velbus solution to replace thermostats (apart from the glass panels).
Instead we went with conventional Heatmiser NeoStat v2 thermostats. Whilst these are not linked to our Velbus they do have decent and very mature control app for Android or iPhone with lots of features that are very easy to use. And they use standard thermostat wiring.
Whatever option you use, have fun with Velbus. There is lots of help in here and it is a very flexible and mostly very capable system. We have no regrets after wiring our new house extensively with Velbus in 2023.
