Velbus network extremely slow

Hey,

since a few days my velbus network is extremely slow,

once i hit a push button (connected to a vmb6pbn) it takes about 5 seconds before any action is taken.

reading and writing to a module using velbus link takes ages,

it says it is only transferring at a speed of 6 bytes/sec …

Did you add, remove or change modules or bus cable?
Did you add or remove terminators?
How many terminators do you have and are they at the extremities of your bus wiring?
Did you change a setting which can cause automatic bus traffic?

Did you add, remove or change modules or bus cable?
=> i added a new vmb6pbn 6 weeks ago, worked perfectly since then

Did you add or remove terminators?
=> no

How many terminators do you have and are they at the extremities of your bus wiring?
=> i have a 2 legged system, one leg has around 15 meter, the other one about 40, on the 40 meter one is a terminator (is there as one of the first modules)

Did you change a setting which can cause automatic bus traffic?
=> looking at the log on velbuslink the only traffic i see is from my 2 temp sensors that send the temp on the bus every time it changes. its about 2 messages every 3 to 5 seconds

It is possible that a bus wire is interrupted. Most likely behind a pushbutton module.
As it is a symmetric system it will still ‘kind of’ work when a bus wire is interrupted, but it will generate bus errors, hence the slow response.

is there a way to check if there are bus errors without the need of checking all the wires?

nothing changed in the wiring in 6 weeks so would be wierd that something would be disconnected …

i have an example of a very slow response:

what happens:
vmb6in(addr 00) channel 6 is pressed
this does a toggle action (put on) on a vmb4ryld(addr 54 chan 1)
vmb6in(addr 00) channel 6 is pressed
this does a toggle action (shut off) on a vmb4ryld(addr 54 chan 1)
this will also trigger a trigger on release timer on a vmb4ryld(addr 53 chan 3)

now everything works great except it takes a couple of seconds before the last action is performed (the trigger on release timer)

below is a log saved from velbus link, any idea what could go wrong?

We still think it is a bus cable problem.
Try interrupting the bus in the middle to isolate the cause of troubles.

ok,

after my holidays i’ll look for a disconnected cable somewhere (will need to remove all modules from the wall …

after some searching i found that one of my modules was flooding the bus …

vmb6in module is broken it seems …

Best thing to do is to return to your dealer so they can get it to us for repair or exchange
