Hi,
I’m looking for a wall switch with backlit buttons for the VMB8PB. Can anyone recommend a brand that can be used or modified?
Thanks
I asked the same question some time ago, but never et a response
I did not find yet a suitable solution. For the time being I used 8 chrome buttons like these
I put the LEDs aside them.
But that’s indeed not a very nice solution, so also looking forward for more suitable switches …
any news for this?
Hi,
In my system I choose for the NIKO 24V potential-free pushbutton.
You can get them with or without indication led. It’s only available in 6-pushbutton version. It leaves you with 2 unused inputs, but you get a styley button that you can choose in many different colors and finishing.
Only thing, and I am working on that, is that the build-in leds work on 24V, and the voltage supplied by the VMB8PD over an opened button is much lower. This results in lower emission of light dispensed by the leds, altough it is enough for oriëntaton in the dark. When u use the NIKO button without leds, it seems to be possible to build in the leds provided in the Velleman VMB8PD shiping box. Mount the leds under the push button and drill a small hole where the led is.
Hi,
in my configuration I use some Niko 6 button (170-60100 niko.be/default.aspx?PageID= … duct=13870)
The buttons are working perfectly however the intensity of the leds is low due to a lack (around 18V) of power from the VMB3PS modules. But the light is still visible in darkness.
Grtz,
Geert
We have added some nice pushbuttons to our range.
They feature different colours of leds, a nice ‘click’-sensation and the can be connected to the 8 button interface for the Velbus.

Now there is 4-pushbuttons with or without led (led ambre or led blue) and a middle place to write text (etiquette).
However, the cost is high : socle 4BP & Blue led + module 4 BP + plaque is around 50€ (“dmlights” source, so probably less expensive than real niko vendor)

They sure do look nice, but not a real ‘indoor light switch’ replacement which will fit nicely in a 60mm inbouwdoos.
When installing a bus with
3x VMB8PB
3x wallswitch 6 buttons (with leds)
6x VMB1DM
Will this setup allow me to control 6 lights from 3 different points in the house (retorical question) AND, will the status of all 6 lights be showed on all 3 wallswitches ?
So if light1 is switched on (or dimmed up) from one of the 3 wallswitches, will all 3 wallswitches power the indicator led, for light1 (button1) continiously ?
yes they do. i use the 4- and 6-pushbuttons from Niko with blue leds that works on 12Vdc without any problem. niko n° for the 4-pushbutton is 170-401100 and the coverplates with lenses are xxx-40100. the 6-pushbutton n° is 170-60110 and the covers with lenses is xxx-60100. you can get a 2-pushbutton too n° 170-05000and the cover is xxx-61507. xxx is the n° of the color you want.
hope this will help you.
Steven
soon i bring out a touchswitch
