Switching input with transistor

There is a topic, but it’s ancient (1), so I feel it’s better to as again: what modules can be switched by a transistor? I got this proximity sensor (2). It has PNP output, works with voltage 10 to 30V. I know I can make it work with VMB4AN, but it feels a bit of a waste to use analogue channel for a digital input. If VMB1RYS works with a transistor input - that would be perfect. VMB7IN would be great as well, but I’d appreciate info about all modules with inputs..

P.S. I assume that the internals of VMB6IN were potentially different than VMB7IN, so the ancient info might not be valid for VMB7IN

(1) Can a VMB8PB be switched by a transistor?

Can I suggest you put that in as a tech request to

https://help.velbus.eu

The units are current sinking / 0v detecting, so in theory it should be fine, but ask the team first.

Thank you! I just did it.

Hi @PrzemoF,

We can confirm that you can use the VMB1RYS, VMB7IN, VMB6PB-20 and VMB8IN-20 modules with a transistor. A VMB8PB will not work with a transistor, only closed contact or push button.

Kind regards
